Paloma Fizz Ganja Cocktail

Margaritas are great, but Mexicans are far likelier to order a Paloma, a refreshing cocktail that typically combines tequila with lime juice and grapefruit soda.

The Hempster Paloma skips the tequila in favour of a sweet and buzzy cannabis-infused simple syrup mixed with fresh grapefruit juice and fragrant rosemary. It’s the perfect refreshment for leisurely summer afternoons – or those wintery ones when you need a dose of summer in your glass, fast.

Ingredients

¼ cup water

¼ cup cannabis-infused honey

2-3 sprigs fresh rosemary

¼ cup fresh pink grapefruit juice

2/3 cup sparkling water (grapefruit flavour preferred)

1 grapefruit wheel (optional garnish)

Method

First, make a simple syrup: add the the water, cannabis-infused honey and rosemary to a small sauce pot and simmer until the honey is dissolved.

Combine the grapefruit juice and 1 tbsp infused simple syrup in a tall glass. (Leftover simple syrup will store in the fridge for several weeks). Fill with ice, and top with sparkling water.

Garnish with a rosemary sprig and a fresh grapefruit wheel.

Note: The recommended cannabis infusion dosage is a suggestion. Cannabis dosing can be complicated and is entirely based on your tolerance and desired potency. To learn why, read our guide to cooking with cannabis. Please proceed with caution by eating a portion and waiting an hour or two before any more. Enjoy!
